Don’t Let Your Boat Catch A Cold!

Cold weather can cause a multitude of issues with your vessel.

Batteries take the biggest hit during colder weather it is always recommended to have a quality charging system keeping your batteries maintained. If you have wet-cell batteries it is also recommended to keep them topped off with distilled water.

Not sure if your batteries are still good?

We can perform a simple pass or fail load test to your batteries to catch a problem before your batteries leave you stranded or give you the peace of mind that your batteries are healthy.

Hurricane Preparation Service

As you know hurricane season is here and in full swing. We’ve already had a few named storms and some close calls. As a client of ours, we would like to make you aware of our Hurricane Preparation Service. During the event of a named storm–we will notify you and take action.

The actions are as follows:

  • 72 hours before the storm is scheduled to make landfall we will deploy extra fenders off of your vessel to prevent damage from docks and other vessels in the marina. We will double all lines and ensure the vessel is supported from the bow stern and other forward and aft spring lines. We will move the boat as far into the middle of the slip as possible to prevent damage.
  • We will remove canvas, cushions, and secure sails.
  • We monitor the vessel periodically when possible, and adjust as needed for storm surge, winds, etc.
  • If you are required to haul out we will arrange one of our staffed license captains to coordinate with the yard and move the vessel at the yards requested time.

This service cost is $200 minimum per instance, and includes the first two hours of labor. Each additional hour is $100.

We will return the vessels canvas, lines, fenders, etc. back to its original configuration after the storm has passed at the regular hourly rate contracted.

If you would like to sign up for these services, please give us a call at 727-433-TBYM, email us at or stop by our website

Also, if you would like to follow the weather–we have a trusted source that we’ve used for years called Mike’s Weather Page which can be found at
